I want to split the daily budget (70% to one group and 30% to the other) between two Ad Groups in the same campaign. Is this possible?

Hello Jez H

Budget is set at campaign level. So I do not see a possibility.

I do not understand the solution Adrian comes with.
Because in your question i do not see you asking about scheduling, or pausing the adgroup.

Let's say that we run a pizza place. The night "ad group" would have a smaller budget because it generates less orders.

We want the "day ad group" to run with a type of messages from 10:00 to 22:00, we can pause the ad group and un-pause it, with 2 automatic rules that run daily using a condition that is always true. After clicking the campaign, we can see all the ad groups and after we select and ad group and click on Automate we get this :

The following can be the "enable in the morning" rule :

enable-ad-group1.png

During the time while the "day ad group" is running, we can check every hour if the condition Cost >70 is TRUE in order to trigger a "pause ad group" action . It is important to use data from the same day, not the default "Previous day"

The total rules to be created are :

4 for pause/unpause the 2 adgroups

22 for checking the cost after each ad group has been enabled ( minus the 2 hours when they get enabled/disabled at the same time)

Hello Jez ! Welcome to the Community !

Short answer : no

Long answer : if you mean to schedule your campaign in a "day Ads" and "night Ads", you can use scheduling and run automated rules every hour to check if the variable COST> 70% of the daily budget , and if YES than pause the ad group.

May I ask why would you want to do this type of ad group budget split ?
