AdWords is not a scam. It's a completely legitimate advertising outlet.

If your ads are being displayed on sites that you don't care for, then you have the ability to block those. Go to the Display Network tab, then the placements tab. Find the sites you don't want and exclude them.

Read the Targeting Tools help files for more information. Your campaign can be set to target just the websites you choose (Managed Placements) or for any website in the Display Network that is appropriate, based on the interest categories or topics you've selected. Where your ads appear depends entirely on the settings you use.

It is a scam, it's their job to prevent fake clicks and I'm being transfered for no reason directly to those video sites. I've blocked hundreds of them but everyday hundreds more appear as my placements with almost 100% clicks and my keywords are all direct. It's a youtube video promotion and the placements are ludicrous given my targets.

Hi JayDee81,

YouTube targetting is tough! You would be better off using managed placements and disabling automatic placements. Go find the videos on which you want to advertise and ad them as managed placements.

If you believe this is a scam, I recommend you close your account immediately.

Best of Luck!

Pete
