Remove "Paste your AdWords Remarketing code here" at the footer

Appreciate some help:

I am having problems with adding the google remarketing code to wordpress.

I went to Appearance, footer, and pasted the code at the end above

Everything is there and all works, except for a pesky one liner that appears at the bottom of the page, that shows people that they are going to be remarketed:

"Paste your AdWords Remarketing code here"

How can i remove this one liner?

i tried the below and it doesn't work too.

Insert code here

Thank you

Hi Peiru, how are things?

Can you paste the code you're using here for us to take a look?

Important thing: avoid editing the code directly at "Appereance" menu. You should learn the concept of CHILD THEMEs. That way you can customize the code without changing the original code, which can keep any changes if your theme get updated and also, you take any change by altering something wrong.

Hope this helps.

Hi leandrofm

Thank you for your reply.
What i did was i just copied the whole code below from google and pasted it in the footer under appearance as most online ways told us to do it this way, to paste it at the end, above the

the code:

<!--------------------------------------------------
Remarketing tags may not be associated with personally identifiable information or placed on pages related to sensitive categories. See more information and instructions on how to setup the tag on: http://google.com/ads/remarketingsetup

var google_tag_params = {
ecomm_prodid: 'REPLACE_WITH_VALUE',
ecomm_pagetype: 'REPLACE_WITH_VALUE',
ecomm_totalvalue: 'REPLACE_WITH_VALUE',
};
</script>
<script type="text/javascript">
/* */
var google_conversion_id = 950702481;
var google_custom_params = window.google_tag_params;
var google_remarketing_only = true;
/* */
</script>

Hi Peiru,

When you make changes directly on pages under "Appearance", if your theme get updates you will loose the code. The update will subscribe that file, so you'll have to input your codes every time your theme gets updated.

Depending on the theme you use, this is not so good to change all the time. Child-themes are a way to customize your current theme without loosing anything in case your theme gets update. Take a look at that, it sure helps you a lot.

For the code, your code seems it got changed some how. It's not supposed to have those "<" all over the place. Can you please make sure a grab the code from Adwords interface again?

Anyhow, you can remove this part below to make sure that anything is not showing:

Thank you for your reply.

Ive just re copied and pasted the code, but the pesky one liner "Paste your AdWords Remarketing code here" still appears at the bottom of the page. The code is here:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Could it be that it has anything to do with this? wp_footer()
