Q about managing negative keywords

I was looking at keywords for an adgroup and selected one of them and then chose to see the details for the selected term for the past 30 days.

there are two keywords showing up as being excluded. Having said that, when i then went and looked at the actual negative keywords for the adgroup itself, campaign and applied campaign negative keyword list, I'm not seeing these two negative keywords anywhere in order to remove them from being excluded/negatives.

Any suggestions appreciated

Thanks
Whims

Hi Whims, I'm not sure I've caught what you're asking...  Are you saying there are (positive) keywords in an Ad Group that are showing as being "blocked" by a negative you can't find?

If so, is it possible it's a close variant of a negative that is there (a plural, different tense, etc.).  The default setting for a campaign is to use close variants of keywords...

Hi there Cobnut Smiley Happy

Hi Whims, I'm not sure I've caught what you're asking...  Are you saying there are (positive) keywords in an Ad Group that are showing as being "blocked" by a negative you can't find?

None of my keywords in the adgroup itself are showing as being blocked/not running.

I'm on the keyword tab for the adgroup and have selected the date range of the past 30 days. I selected a keyword by ticking it and then clicked the button/drop down to see the search terms for the selected keyword (phrase match).
There is a particular keyword that is showing as being excluded in red in the Added/Excluded column. I dont want it excluded.

I dont have the any campaigns set to the defaults.

All campaigns are set to Do not include close variants.

I added it and then it shows as blocked .. I did just now after quite a bit of hunting manage to find where it was being blocked via the negative keyword

I guess I just wish the interface part at the bottom of the screen was as easy to read as the upper part of the screen for active keywords (says me - unable to find my eye specs at this stage)  lol

eg maybe alternating the bg color for each row a neg keyword is on or something?

I have shocking eyesight and find a single long list of words on a single white background plays havoc at times
