How is the minimum bid for an auction with no competitors is determined?

I would add that there is a minimum threshold . You can be the only player, but still your ad won't show because it did not reach this threshold.

Hi Loraine,

It's a nice question but try to understand the fact that if there is no competition, how much worth it would be advertising on Google?

Hence Moshe is absolutely correct that there need to be a minimum threshold which Adwords take into account and then decide whether the ad is eligible to show or not.

To answer more how the actual cost per click is calculated, you can read this reference.

Just a thought!

Hi Loraine,

I can see the fellas handled your original query just fine but I have some additional information for you.

While on the topic of 'No Competition' take a look at Jon's post here:  https://www.en.adwords-community.com/t5/Manage-ads-manage-account/No-ads-on-a-google-search-no-compe...

This guy is full of brilliance.
