Multiple Call Extensions - Which One Is Used?

Hey guys.

Setting up a campaign and targeting one area. There are three of my clients businesses in the area. What happens when I enter in three call extensions (each with a different number)?

Also, those numbers will be Google call forwarding tracking numbers. Not sure if that effects anything.

Any input is greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

Hi,
Are you trying to put ads for three clients in one campaign by any chance?

It's one client with 3 locations in the same city. Ad Copy is the same. A solution would be to break it into three campaigns and divide the geo targets for the city, but I would rather avoid this.

Geo-targeting is the only way to do it unfortunately. Is there any reason why this isn't preferred?

Splitting the campaign just creates more work, can be managed efficiently through editor...but none the less. Much easier through one campaign.

This shouldn't take long to set up and it will provide much, much clearer figures to help you optimise efficiently.

If you need any help or advice on oding this give me a shout.

Ryan.

I agree overall. Issues:

1) Is the city easily divisible in geo targets.
2) Low amount of monthly hours to work on account.

Hi Robert O

I would advise to create 3 campaigns, each with one number per business vertical.

Hi Robert,

Did you find the answer to your original question?
Which call extension is used if you add several to the same campaign? Do they show in random order or is there a preferred one?

I agree it doesn't really make sense to add multiple call extensions to the same campaign. But I am curious about how Google handles this.

Regards,

Nicolas
