Migrating Location Extensions: 2 locations, one ADW account, no GMB access

I manage an Adwords account for a business that has 2 physical locations. I currently have location extensions set up in the shared library in ADW. The client already has a Google My Business profile (not sure if it's separate profiles for each location or both locations managed from one profile), but it's not linked to ADW and I don't have access to it.

What's the best way for me to manage the migration of their location extensions to ensure accuracy? Do I need to get log-in access to their GMB profile?

Since GMB isn't linked to their ADW account, will anything bad happen if Google automatically creates a new GMB profile as part of this auto-migration?
