Marketing a resort in Hilton Head SC. Do not want the ads to show in the target city.

I am markting a resort hotel in Hilton Head SC. I have an ad campaign set up to show ads only in SC, NC, GA & TN by state. Ads show beautifully but... I do not want anyone within a 40 mile radius of Hilton Head NC, to see the ads (we have our reasons... we do not want locals in on this ad campaign deal). Once I choose to excluce a 40 mile radius around Hilton Head ALL my keywords STOP SHOWING ADS!

NOTE: All keywords do include HILTON HEAD in them. We want people in Colombia SC to see our wonderful vacation package when they search for "Hilton Head, NC resort deals" but they will not inless we include showing them to Hilton Head area residents in our campaign. This does not make any sense to me. We are using "Search Network only - All features" in the campaign settings.

Any help would be appreciated. I must be missing a switch.

Hello MyrtleBeach911;

This is a nice question. We had a similar one about a Hotel in LA;

Please read that case, and see if the "work around" suggested can solve yours;

exclude by location, include by intent
