Location Targeting - Radius Targeting

Hello,

Quick question about radius location targeting... 

 

I have a client who is targeting 10 miles around his location with a bid adjustment of +20%, as well as 35 miles around his location with a bid adjustment of -10%. 

 

I was wondering whether these bid adjustments will interfere with each other, or will the -10% bid adjustment only be between 10-35 miles like he wants?

Hi @Deborah H,

 

Thanks for this fundamental query. Actually, they won't interfere; the more specific targeting will take effect. The Policy explains it as follows.

 

"Multiple adjustments that apply to the same location won't be combined. If you set an adjustment of +50% for France, and +100% for Paris, only the adjustment for Paris, the most specific location, will be used for traffic from users in Paris."

Within 10 mi effective will be +20%, while between 10 and 35 mi effective will be -10%, just like your client wants.
