Location Target/Product Name Issues

Hi Folks,

I am currently running a marketing campaign for a very specific region (NYC metro area) and have my location targeting set as such. However, one of my ad groups is for a product that happens to be named after a city in california. This has resulted in all the keywords using my product name getting very low quality scores and not showing because it thinks i'm targeting a location outside of the campaign settings. Adding the california city as a negative location and changing targeting to only include people in my location have not solved this problem. Any advice?

Thank you,

Kate

Check your advanced Location Options (advanced) settings under Campaigns.

The options are...

#1 People in, searching for, or viewing pages about my targeted location (recommended)

#2 People in my targeted location

#3 People searching for or viewing pages about my targeted location

You want to go with options #2 - and I would still leave those negative keywords for california, ca, cali, etc in the account, can't really hurt imo.

City Names as Negative Keywords question- do they it block your ads from appearing in those cities?
