Live ad showing different words than in my campaign

My ads are not the same live than in my campaign. Basically, the preview or the live version shows words that i never typed in my original ad. How is that possible? Even when i go back to my campaign those words that i see live are not there! What should I do

Hey Sophie, how are things?

This is probably due campaign structure or using keywords in Broad Match. Maybe the ad showing live is for another keyword rather then the one you think it should be.

Can you provide examples and even screenshots? It would be of great help for us to help.

Hi @Sophie A,

What are those additional words that you see in your ad texts? Are you referring to the domain name being shown in your ad's headline? If yes,  that comes automatically when your ad shows up above the fold on search engine result page.

Ads' text can change automatically only in the following scenarios -

  • When you are using Dynamic Keywords Insertion
  • When you are running Dynamic Search Ads

If you can give more contexts to the situation, we may be more helpful.

Totally agreed with @Ratan-Jha,

Only 3 situations/scenarios may change the ad text, all 3 have been mentioned by Ratan.

Additionally, sometimes description line can also be shown along with the headline instead of domain name. This is when you use punctuations( . ? ! ) in the 1st description line.
