Hi All,

I have developed more clarity based on the answers that the community has provided to my previous questions and new there is a ew one that intriques me. I have an ad-group that has the exact, phrase and modified match of a given keyword. This ad-group also triggers my ad for other related keywords. Some of the related keywords for which the ad is triggered have a higher search volume to them. Would you suggest

  1. Adding the related keywords to the ad-gorup to manage their bidding better
  2. Creating new ad-groupd for the related keywords - althought am not sure if AdWords would show the ads.
  3. Leave the related keywords for which the ads are been shown, concerntrate on the core set of keywords and build they QS.

The feedbcak of the community members on the above would be much aprpeciated.

Thanks and Regards,

Hi Adroit281980,

I would first find out answers for few questions such as:

-- Keywords from search query are highly relevant to adgroup?

In this case I would like to add keywords found from search query in respective adgroup assign lil higher bid.

-- Do I want to create more specific adcopy for these keyewords?

In this case I would prefer to create seperate adgroup with very specific adcopy. I would try to incorporate keyword in adcopy headline and display url atleast. At the same time I would negative these keywords in previous adgroup.

-- Is current adgroup already flooded with many keywords?

In this case I would prefer to create seperate adgroup with very specific adcopy. As I do not prefer to add so many keywords in single adgroup.

Also If the keyword is low search volume plus low QS. I don't prefer to keep them in my campaign. And if the keyword is low search volume but with good QS. I keep them in seperate adgroup. As QS contributes to overall QS.

Leave the related keywords for which the ads are been shown, concerntrate on the core set of keywords and build they QS.

I personally think if the keywords is highy relevant, profitable and having high search volume their is no harm adding those keywords. Highly relevant keywords improves Exact Match Impression Share which contributes to QS.

When we add new keywords and analyse over the period of time their profitability, we can pause underperforming existing keywords.

Just a thought! I beleive everyone must be having different thoughts on this. I would also like to read others opinions! Smiley Happy

Thanks

Neha

Hi adroit281980,

In addition to what Neha explained well above, I would like to share my thoughts here...

This directly means that your traffic is getting mix and match from one ad group to another. Why is it that if you have a separate ad group of dedicated keywords, it is triggering ads from the second ad group?

In my opinion, that shouldn't be the case. You should try to control the Adwords clicks in such a way that for the keywords you want to trigger an ad, make sure those keywords are triggering ad for you. To avoid the overlap, you might consider including the embedded negative matches in ad groups so that your traffic is streamlined. You can refer to this article for insights.

Just a thought!

Thanks Neha and Pankaj,

Sorry if I was not able to explain my issue clearly. The ads been triggered are not for other ad groups but for the keywords in a single ad group and all the keywords for which the ad is been triggered are relevant. I assume it maybe so happening as I am using the broad and modified matches for the keywords.

Thanks for the article and all your help.
