Incorrect and incomplete geographical hierarchy for Spain

Hi,
For country of Spain, a city is in a province, and a province is in an autonomous community. For example: Barcelona is in Province of Barcelona, Autonomous Community of Catalona, and Country of Spain.
On AdWords front end, Barcelona city doesn't include the province in its name hierarchy. Furthermore, Community of Madrid is listed as a province, but in fact it's an autonomous community.

Hi Kevin,

I'm not sure I'm understanding a specific question here. I also trust that what you have outlined is absolutely correct.

AdWords Location Targeting Options do indeed vary from country to country.

Hi Kevin;

As Tom mentioned, though technically, the AdWords UI allows you to geographically target smaller areas is Spain, in practice, you can target only by region, or by city level. ( But, this is also not perfect).,

So, if you want to geo-target a smaller area, you need to target by intent (i.e. To include the town name in the keyword: "gourmet restaurants in Barcelona")

You may find the wiki article on geo targeting helpful
