I am confused about my campaign start and stop

I started an adwords video campaign today, set to expire in one week on Jan. 26.  I received an email that it was "ready to start" soon after submitting. I just now received an email that it is about to expire.  When I click on the campaign, no money has been spent and there is a note that it is "under review".  This is the first time for me to use this and I am very confused by the process.

Hello CarlyJoJackson;

It is most likely that the account was submitted for a review by a Google specialist, hence the campaign was put "on hold" until review is completed. Usually, an account review is completed within 3 days.
