How to target text ads for onsite internal search - newspapers

I'm wondering how one specifically targets text ads to show up on sites, such as newspaper and news sites, when visitors search on their internal search engines. So, in the example below I use the NYTimes.com site as an example. Is this best done as a Display Campaign with Topics chosen such as "Local News" and "Newspapers" in conjunction with relevant keywords?

Thanks much in advance! T

Hi Talexander,

These ads are not being triggered by Display Campaign. Such ads are either powered by Google search itself or by some other search engines like- bing, ask, duck-duck-go etc.
Its depends upon the publisher (website owner) that which search-engine had he implemented on the website.

Under campaign network settings in Adwords you see a thing called "Google Search Partner", By default it remains checked, that means your ads may trigger on such websites. If you uncheck it, that means search-partners got excluded.

Thanks
Rohit

Hi talexander,

Depending on the websites you choose and the targeting options they have for their Ad slots, you may be able to specifically target the search results page.  Where you can target on a website depends upon how the site owner has configured their AdSense advertising.  If they've created specific page targets - an optional setting so not all sites do it - they may have a target for their results page.
