How to segment ad groups for product listing ads

Currently have a single data feed containing all of our products feeding into a single, generic product listing ads campaign and ad group but am interested in segmenting our products into more specific ad groups. Do I need to set up individual data feeds for each segment of our products we'd like to highlight or is there a way to do that in either Adwords or Merchant Center?

Hi there conres,

Thanks for your post!

You don't need to set up new individual feeds to segment your products, as you can set up different Product Targets in your AdWords account to have your product listing ads set up in a more targeted way.

For example, you can create a product target for a specific brand or product type in your Merchant Centre account, rather than having to show all of your products in your feed. You would need to follow the instructions on the 'Set Up Product Targets' section of this article here to set up more specific product targets for your ad groups.

Hope this helps!

A.

The problem is that you still won't have seperate bid amounts for your products.  In order to do what you described you need to use a 3rd party software from MerchantAdvantage.com that can create product specific ad listings and bid amounts.  Then you would manage your account by doing search query management.
