How to make sitelinks with pictures ?

I noticed this ad today and it has some beautiful crowns near the sitelinks, how did they do that ?

Those are not pictures, but rather "symbols", and if I read the policies right (https://support.google.com/adwordspolicy/answer/176095?hl=en) they are not allowed.

Why do they still work? My bet is that they haven't been caught. Yet. They're not as famous as Lufthansa (who did something like that with plane symbols in the past) and people did not notice (and report them). Again, yet.

I found the solution , you copy paste the ascii character and it only takes one letter space, I wonder if this complies with the AdWords policy

♔ ♔ (White King - crown)
♘ ♘ (White Knight - horse)
♚ ♚ (Black King - crown)
♛ ♛ (Black Queen - crown

Amazing, if I tried to use this in a sitelink it got instantly reject but those ads keep runing without problems, what did they do ?

Apparently I wasn't able to do that, just copy-pasting that character gets the sitelink instantly rejected.

 

Let's wait for a Googler, a Top Contributor or a user with much more practical experience than me to make us understand better this issue
