Google Conversion Optimizer & Ad Rotation

Does the google conversion optimizer, which I believe is the optimizer for the bidding options, impact the ad rotation setting to optimize for clicks and optimize for conversions or do they use two different algorithms and therefore are not contingent of each eachother?

I am just trying to figure out if the google optimizer impacts the rotation of ads if a user chooses to optimize for click or conversions.

Hey ioneCallie-

I appreciate you taking the time to post your question here! Regarding how Conversion Optimizer impacts your ad rotation, there are a few details to keep in mind.

As you might have noticed, when you first activate Conversion Optimizer or Enhanced CPC in a campaign, your ad rotation setting will change to “Optimize for conversions” by default. This has rolled out as a recent change, and this is further explained in a blog post. Please keep in mind that you're free to change to a different option at any time.

Also, let's say that you choose the option to "rotate evenly." If the ads in a particular ad group are unchanged for 90 days, the campaign will automatically begin to optimize for conversions (if you are using Conversion Optimizer or Enhanced CPC).

Please let me know if this helps clarify your concerns. Have a great rest of your day and a good holiday season!

Best,

Liz

Hi Liz

Thanks for the response.

I have some doubts regarding the original question. How does Conversion Optimizer work if ad roation setting is "Optimize for clicks"?

Do Conversion Optimizer and ad rotations work with different data (Conversion Optimzer is related to securing an impression and ad rotation determines which ad copy is to be shown to the user)?

Thanks for your time.

Hi Akshat_Mittal,
I also has the same question as you. I use Conversion Optimizer for my campaign, but the ad rotation setting is auto-populated as"Optimize for clicks" . And i can not edit it. I believe this setting will influence our ads performance.
