Geo-Targeting for In-flight internet

Hi folks!  I know Gogo has in-flight ad options, but I"m interested in how to target standard Adwords GDN/Youtube ads to folks who are viewing content using in-flight internet.

Does anyone know how to target these networks?  Domestic flights would be great.  International would be awesome.

Thanks for any ideas on this!

Best,

Colin

No idea, Colin, but next time you're flying hit your website and check your Analytics, maybe you can detect a pattern. I wonder what location you'll get, what network and what service provider.

Even so though, I don't see Gogo among the targetable carriers in the US, for instance.

Who knows, though, maybe you can target parts of the ocean where you know planes are crossing Smiley Happy. I wonder if you could exclude ships and submarines if you do that though Smiley Happy.

@Colin Donohue;

Go-go uses ground celluarular antennas  within the continental USA and satellite connection across the Atlantic. When I tested the service on an American's A321 out of JFK a year ago, there was no availability for YouTube steaming (or any other steaming) So unless the broadband has improved - no video ads, yet.

Additionally, go-go offers their own advertising platform for advertisers. I don't know how Google fits into this platform.

For GDN, how would the targeting work based on the ground antennae?

How might I identify a means of targeting based upon this?

I'm looking into gogo but I doubt they control directly the GDN ads that display on personal devices on the flight.

If I were to look into it on the flight, how would I determine how my location/network was being classified, for targeting?

Thanks @MosheTLV

@Colin Donohue;

Ground antennas are owned by go-go - they are not owned (at least to my knowledge) by US cellular operators. So, targeting cellular  carriers would  not help much...

I checked the go-go web site and noticed a partnership with Google, though I don't know if this is a partnership in sharing advertising platform.

What won't you give a call to Go-go and check with them?

If you do, please update us.

I'd still be interested in what Analytics reports with respect to the location of the visit, coordinates and perhaps network domain and service provider.
