I try to activate Gender Targeting according to the instructions in https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/2580282 but I don't manage to get to the options specified there. I don't get an Add Targeting drop down menu after selecting my Ad Group.

Hello,

It shouldn't be that difficult to find that option. When you go to your Display campaign and click on Display Network Tab, then click on particular ad group and then Targeting. You will see Add Targeting below the options which you already have. It should be something like this:-

I am just wondering if your campaign type is Search Network with Display Select” campaign.

If that's the case, you won't get that option because they are not part of this particular type of campaign. You will have to create a dedicated Display Network only campaign for that. Find more details here: https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/2567043

Thank you, The campaign type was indeed the reason I didn't see this option.

Is there no way to perform targeting by gender to Search Network campaign? I run a dating site in which the men typically come from one country and the women from another, so for the ads displayed in the second country I want to minimize the numbers of clicks received by men as much as possible.
