Hi Doug, further to Drazen's answer, you may want to look at using Labels to increase your control over which Ads you pause. Automated Rules can use Labels as a condition for their actions.
If your reasons for pausing are complex, or on a rolling basis, you might want to consider using Scripts to first identify the Ads that should be paused, then either pausing them within the script itself or merely using the script to apply a Label that can be searched for manually or acted upon later by an Automated Rule.
