Do Clicks To A Call Extension Generate A Click ID

Hello folks! Does anyone have any experience working with call extensions whether using/not using a google forwarding number to produce a google click id? Trying to use a 3rd party call provider (Marchex) to track phone calls from a static number to the keyword level. Although this can be done with a google forwarding number we find that there is an increase in hangups because some of our clients already use forwarding numbers so we're basically forwarding to a forwarding number.

If we can somehow grab the google click id from a user just clicking on the call extension we plan on matching the user data from that interaction with the info our 3rd party call provider provides and import those interactions as goals back to adwords.

Anyone know if this is feasible or have tips on better ways to do this?

@Alex T;

Yes; every ad has a click ID which is a unique string that  tracks the ad back to a specific campaign.

That's what I thought but for some reason our 3rd party provider advised us that a click to the call extension does not generate a click id - that only a click to the ad that brings you to the website would create one.
