Click-to-download App banner ads

Hi

Using Enhanced Campaigns, setting upp an App-campaign. There are 3 formats to choose from: 1, text ad 2. image ad 3 Ad for digital content.

The last one seems to be a true click-to-download ad (i.e. starting a download when you click on it), but what about the others?
On this page, it seems like it:http://www.google.co.uk/ads/mobile/ad-formats/display-ads.html#tab=ctd-app

and on this: https://support.google.com/adwords/certification/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=2799800

But I have my doubts. This page doesn´t speak of image ads.  https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/2549053?hl=en

Anyone tried it can say for sure?

Hi David,

I've asked our team to look into this one for you and hopefully they'll be able to get back to you soon.

Thanks!

A.

Hi David,

Thanks for your question. You were right with the second link: https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/2549053?hl=en

The click-to-download ads that you have the instructions for here are eligible to show on both the search and display networks. When the user clicks on the ad they will be directed to the App Store of their device and prompted to download.

Let us know if you have any more questions.

Hi David,

You are exactly right. The user will be directed into the app store when they click on the ad, regardless of whether that click has come from the Search or Display network.

Let me know if there is anything else I can clarify.
