Can you create a campaign with zip codes that only people living in that zip code can see?

Hello All,

Is there a way to create a targeted zip code campaign that only the people in that zip code can see.  So this way your competitior can't just do a keyword search with city name and see your campaign and click your daily budge out if he/she doesn't live in that zip code area?  Please be so kind to explain the steps involved in creating this type of zip code campaign where people only in zip code can see the adwords campaign.

Thank you so much in advance for the help

This is not verry likely to happen, Google is quite good in discovering illegal clicks.

You can't set up an Zip code only AdWords campaign as far as Iám aware.

Google-AdWords localisation is not as refined as a lot of people suppose.

There is a 15-20  mile area around the set borders, because Google uses  IP addresses, and these can locate a person upto ca. 15 miles from his actual location.

As Marketsharer points out, the google machine is pretty good about discovering invalid clicks, so try not to be too concerned about that. Depending on your targeting options, and a users, or bots browser settings, if someone really does have it out for you, they could try to cost you money. However, this isn't the sort of thing the big G will tolerate for long, one way or the other.

As far as targeting zip codes only, there is not a targeteing option for that level. However, you could in theory come up with a structure to attempt such a thing. It will not be perfect, and actualy may do more harm than good, but you could try.

What is at the heart of the matter that is causing the concern? What is the overall problem or concern, invalid clicks?

Tom
