CPC max stuck in auto bidding

I switched my daily budget from $0.02 to the correct amount of $20 per day (after a currency conversion error) but the max bid is still stuck on $.02 per click, and I can't change it because it is auto bidding.

I want it to auto bid because I'm new, but if it's auto why isn't it updating?

Hi Andrew,

Budget is the amount you are willing to spend each day. And Bid is the amount you are willing to pay for each click. So if your per day budget is $20 and bid for each click is $1.

More on budget and bidding: https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/2375454?hl=en

Now suppose you got 3 clicks for $1 each. You spent would be $3. budget left per day would be $17. Upto 20% over delivery of budget is possible. Read here on Over delivery https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/2393018?hl=en

Now with Automatic bidding Google automatically charge you for each click. You don't have control over bids. You can set maximum cpc under campaign setting. your cost per click will not be charged more then max cpc that you will set under campaign settings.

Hi Andrew,

Welcome to the community!

Automatic bidding will help you to get the most possible clicks within your budget. You can also set a cost-per-click bid limit if you don't want to exceed a particular price for each click.

You have set your daily budget. Now please edit you bid limit if you want to.

Find how to change your Max CPC Limit under 'Set up CPC bid limits' in the link below.

Hope this helps.

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for posting! I think Deepak is correct - when you selected 'automatic bidding', you may have set a 'max CPC bid limit' too. This means the automatic bidding system won't raise your bids higher than the max CPC bid limit you have set. You can edit this in the 'Settings' tab of your campaign.

Alternatively, you can switch to 'manual bidding' and adjust the bids for individual keywords in your 'Keywords' tab.

I hope this helps!
