Auto-Tagging as an Ad Agency

How much information does auto-tagging provide Analytics if the Adwords account is NOT directly connected? We're a media agency that runs ad campaigns for clients. Our clients operate their Analytics page independently. Auto-tagging would be an easy way to avoid having to change out URL's with custom UTM's that clients provide after we're already up and running. My worry is that our Adwords cost will be revealed by doing this. Can anyone comment whether this is true and what other information the auto-tracking feature offers Analytics that a media agency should be weary about?

J M, please have a look at the following policy pertaining specifically to agencies:

https://support.google.com/adwordspolicy/answer/6086450?hl=en

At a minimum, you must provide your customers with monthly performance reports that include data on costs, clicks, and impressions at the Google advertising account level. When sharing Google advertising cost data with customers, report the exact amount charged by Google, exclusive of any fees that you charge.

And the answer to your question is yes, once the Analytics and AdWords accounts are linked properly (https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/1704341?hl=en) AdWords costs is indeed visible in the Analytics account. But so they SHOULD be, after all.
