Adwords experiments

Hello all, I am trying to run an experiment on groups of different ads.

eg.

ad1-a

ad2-a

ad3-a

compared to

ad1-b

ad2-b

ad3-b

Is this possible? Or will they all "experiment" against each other?

As well, what is the difference between

Control and experiment

Control only

Experiment only

Any help with this would be appreciated.

Hi Terry,

Control and experiment:- This means that your experiment is split into Control and test. So you can control as well as test some new bids, new ad copies for the percentage of time during the auction that you really want.

Control only:- Experiments are live and available fully during the ad auction process.

Experiment only:- Testing phase where you are running the experiments for a portion of time.

Find more details on how to set up the experiments here:- https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/2375383?hl=en

FYI, you could also draft any changes and run as an experiment or fully live as well. More details on Drafts set up can be found here:- https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/6318732?hl=en

I hope this helps!

Pankaj

@Terry Crowder;

Statistically,  AdWords experiment is a single variable test. You can change one variable and test its performances "before and after"

Hello,

So will the A,B, testing that I outlined above, work if they are all in the same adgroup?

A/B testing is now part of Analytics.
