Ads Showing for different group keywords

Hi,

One of my ad from Group 1, is showing for the keyword of Group 2. So i tried to add that group 2 keyword as negative with exact match in group 1 to avoid mismatch triggering. I have done this previously it was worked for many ads.

But now i m getting below msg when adding the keyword in negative keywords section.

These entries could not be added due to the following reasons:
You cannot exclude Keywords that are targeted.

can any one give solution for this.

Hi Masilamani,

The first question that comes to mind is on what platform are you adding the negative? On the browser interface or the new AdWords editor?

You can add negative keywords on a campaign and ad group level, you can also add keywords to a negative keyword list which can be applicable account wide by adding all or as much campaigns you want in the Shared Library.

 

Try deleting the keyword then adding it to the negative keyword.

 

Find out keyword which you want to block on another ad group using filter on campaign level. Then take decision which should be blocked and where.
