Significant drop in Impressions/Views on Youtube?

Hey guys, can't figure it out on my own but in the last week or so, the impressions and views on Youtube dropped significantly.  I am getting only 1/10 of the impressions/views volume that I used to.  I even tried increasing the bid.  I am in contact with other marketers that advertise on Youtube and they have experienced the same issue. Does anyone know what is happening and how to fix it?

Same here with spanish IP... campaigns (even those with high VTR) started dropping on Nov, 17th... maybe christmas reserved sellthrough is higher and remaining inventory for bidding is far lower than before...

Alvaro, this is exactly what I was thinking too and hopefully it goes back to normal after the holidays.

Hi Antonio and Alvaro

Are you still having this issue? Black Friday/Cyber Monday can cause some dramatic changes in traffic and cost per click, but if you continue to see this significant decrease in traffic, you can call the AdWords specialist team to review your account and make sure nothing is amiss: https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/8206?hl=en

Yes still having the same problem and many others are too. Adwords support is clueless and worthless so won't even try to contact them. Quite embarassing for a multi billion dollar company.

Hi Antonio,

I'm sorry to hear that you are still having this issue. We cannot access accounts from this forum, so for account-specific help, you will need to contact AdWords support in your country, either by phone or chat.

However, if you have not changed any of your campaign's settings, bids, budget, etc., I do think seasonal changes are the likely culprit here. We see these kinds of drastic changes every year on advertising on YouTube, Search, and Shopping ads as well. As retailers begin more aggressive advertising campaigns for the holiday season, the advertising landscape changes; bidding and targeting strategies which resulted in many impressions before can be affected when another advertiser with higher bids or video engagement targets the same group of people.

Hope this helps,
Cassie
