Ran an ad, got 1200+ views in 2 days but no likes or subscribers

I am new to this community, and appreciate the input. We ran an ad for one of our videos. The ad got over 1200 views in 2 days in the territories we listed. However, when looking at the stats we see no new subscribers and no new likes on the video. Now I know content is king, but we have been posting these videos for the past 6 months on FB and had a small but good following, which generated many likes for both the videos and page. We also see other videos we have on You Tube that organically get likes and subscribers with 90% less views, and we're confident in the content, so we're wondering how an ad could generate no additional likes or subscribers. It feels like the video went through a click farm. Any input is appreciated.

what type of format(s) did you use?   The in-display format will not get many likes/subscribers, if any at all, because the ad is not played on its watch page.

Hi @Chris R what do the Analytics for the video show?  Choose "Traffic Sources" from the left-hand menu and you'll be able to see the data (especially "Average view duration" and/or "Average percentage viewed") for AdWords traffic.  That should give you a better feel for how much your AdWords visitors interacted with the video.

If the interaction appears low, the most likely answer is that the video wasn't what the people who clicked on the Ad were looking for.  This can be very difficult to pin down but it's quite common (not only in promoting videos, but in all other AdWords channels).  In other words, the Ad appeared to be relevant to their search, but when viewed, it wasn't quite what they wanted.

That could make sense since the ad was not hyper targeted. The view time was on average about 60%, so it's clear the content was not what people were looking for, as they did not stick around for the full video. It seems odd, however, that not a single person clicked a like or subscribe. More experimentation with next ad.
