So I set up a display ad campaign with next to no targeting. YouTube instantly spent £20 on showing the ad at the beginning of a bunch of random videos.

I have since done the following and my setup looks like this:

I am targeting, Australia, US, UK and Canada.
Demographic: 25 - 45
Gender: All
Parental Status: All
Income: All

Interests: None
Re-marketing: None
Placements: Set 26 popular monetized videos URL's that I want my ad to play against.
Topics: None
Keywords: None

Networks: YouTube Videos Only.

Daily Budget : £5 a day.

Ad has been approved and was previously showing. Now I am getting zero impressions.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @Brett G

As you have icnluded few specific videos to show your ads on , there could be two possibilitied why your ad is not shown/ 0 impressions

1. The selected monetized videos doesn't have enough views

2. Your CPV is lower, try to increase the CPV. Generally if you wasnt to show your ad on specfiic videos you ahve to bid high enough. In this case also, you have selected only 26 videos.

For your first query the youtube spent instantly because you haven't put any targeting and it will consider the demo targeting (age & country) and had shown your ad to all the audience under the targeting (open targeting)

And I would also  test by eliminating age targeting

Ok,

So I upped my budget from £5 to £10 per day.

Increased my cost per view to max £1.

Over the past couple of days I have received 4 views on my campaign and 31 impressions.

Any ideas why the numbers are so low?

I have 100+ eligible placements set up on the video.

Which numbers? A 13% view rate sounds great. The more restrictive your targeting, the smaller the potential audience. If you have 10/day to spend, and you're not spending it with your current targeting, then increase the bid to 10 and see if you can spend the budget with your current targeting. If you still can't, then you have to continue to expand your targeting.
