i want the goal in analytics to be clicking on a button to go on to buy something - this is the code for the button

https://www.udemy.com/payment/checkout?boId=37848&boType=course&dtcode=

i have entered this into the 'Destination - equals to' field, but it is not working.  should it work?

Hi Melody N,

You can use event tracking in Analytics to track this.

Find more information below.

Hope this helps,

Deepak

Just by way of expanding Info's info... once you have set up the event in Analytics you can use that event to record a goal. This goal can then be imported into AdWords as a conversion.

Hi Melody N,

Sounds like you should be using "begins with" instead of "equals to". Does the value of dtcode change with each order, like a customer id or something?

With "equals to", the URL needs to be exactly what you enter. Assuming dtcode has a value, that means what you have setup won't work. But, if the URL always starts the same thing, use "begins with". That matches as much of the URL as you entered.

Also, I don't know whether this is an issue for your setup, you don't include the "https://" part or the domain name, just the path. It should look something like this:

Begins with: payment/checkout?boId=37848&boType=course&dtcode=

Best of Luck!

Hey Melody,

Udemy needs something like this for the url:

/your-course-name-here/payment-success-page/

You'll also need to use the option on the Google Analytics goal page that says 'Begins with'. Not Equals to.

Works for me on my Udemy courses.
