Hello!

Can you explain {lpurl+2} and {lpurl+3}? Why it's better than {lpurl}? Examples?

Hi Dmitry,

{lpurl}:

This tag returns the final URL, which will be automatically escaped if {lpurl} appears anywhere in the tracking template, other than the beginning.

{lpurl+2} and {lpurl+3}:

These tags return the final URL, escaped twice or three times, respectively.

{lpurl+2}, {lpurl+3} tags can be also used if there is a chain of redirects in the tracking template.

If you use multiple click trackers in your Destination URL, here's how you can ugprade to Upgraded URLs:

Use new ValueTrack parameter {lpurl+2} to represent the final landing page URL because you need two levels of encoding.

Destination URL:
http://tracker.3rdparty.com/redir?&kwid=12345&ad={creative}&url=http%3A%2F%2Fanother3rdparty.com%2Fr...http%253A%252F%252Fwww.example.com%252Fshoes%253Fcolor%253Dred

Final URL: http://www.example.com/shoes?color=red

Tracking Template: http://tracker.3rdparty.com/redir?&kwid=12345&ad={creative}&url=http%3A%2F%2Fanother3rdparty.com%2Fr...{lpurl+2}

Similarly, you can use {lpurl +3} as well.

Hope that helps,

Mini

Hope that helps,

What if the redirects went http://tracking1.com/?url=http://tracking2.com and http://tracking2.com/?url=http://finalurl.com.

I assume just {lpurl} is the required?

Hi Mini-CM,

I'm hoping you can provide guidance on setting up multiple redirects with the tracking template as I've ran into issues for quite some time now in trying to get it to work.

Redirect 1: http://thirdpart.com=3&ex_ln={keyword}&ex_lx={targetid}&ex_crx={creative}&ex_mt={matchtype}&ex_n={ne...}

Redirect 2:

https://secondthirdparty/example/example/0000000000;0000000;a;u={exampleid}|{creative}

Combined and used in tracking template (currently does not work)

http://thirdpart.com=3&ex_ln={keyword}&ex_lx={targetid}&ex_crx={creative}&ex_mt={matchtype}&ex_n={ne...}

Do you have recommendations on how to get this to resolve to the final URL?

And there may be a case where we will need to add a third redirect. What would that structure look like?

Thanks,

Michelle
