Is the keyword planner better than the keyword tool? I not finding the customize column option in for keyword planner is it available for keyword planner or not?

Hi Nanda, I compared the Keyword Tool to the Keyword Planner, and you are right, they don't have the same columns anymore (in some cases).

In my opinion, there are only two things that are worse in the new Planner
1. You can only do 50 keywords at a time when searching for new keywords.
2. You need to be logged in to use it. I have to use a dummy account when trying to do a buildout for a new client, or pre-sales work for a potential client. I'm not going to create a new account in my MCC for every pre-sales client.

I have loved everything else (especially location targeting). It takes a little getting used to though.

Hi nanda k,

 

The keyword planner is much more better tool than the old keyword tool

because now it combines functionalitis from both the traffic estimator and the keyword tool

And with the help of the keyword multiplier it can save you some serious time .

 

I find very handy also using Google Trends Tool  (old Google insights)  http://www.google.gr/trends/

Especially when initiating an international campaign to find some more interesting metrics about my target keywords.

 

Unfortunately for you only the following metrics are available in the review estimates page  :

 

Ad Group
Keywords
Clicks
Impr.
Avg. Pos.
Cost
CTR
Avg. CPC

 

And the following metrics are available in the first level at the adgroup ideas and Keyword ideas tabs :

 

Search terms

Avg. monthly searches 

Competition 

Avg. CPC 

 

 

 

And it looks like there is not a column modifier available.

 

Tip : Dont forget when you press the Review Estimates to 

Enter a bid Enter daily budget and not leave them blank because otherwise it wont produce any data in the table !
