Its easy. First just add a redirection to a thank you page. Once that is done, then add the conversion code on the thank you page.

HI Punit,

You can track conversions of your contact form. For that you have to put the tracking code, on the page where your visitors are landing after filling that form.  Example: Thank you page. or whatever it is.

If you don't have the separate thank you page then, insert the conversion code, in the part of the page script that renders the 'thank you'.

Thank and Regards

John Paul

Hi PunitChandak,

Good day to you. For tracking conversions with Contact Form 7 Wordpress plugin, many developers & users are looking for how to redirect to a new "Thank-You" pages.

Google has made tracking much easier, with Event Tracking. Since Contact Form 7, works through AJAX, you can use this method, which saves you more time efficiently.

Here's how you can do it,

1. Login to your Wordpress Admin Dashboard
2. Select Contact Form 7 Admin Page
3. Click "Add New"
4. Select the lanuguage you want
5. After completing the requried form fields, scroll down and there is a multi-line text field called "Additional Settings"
6. Add the following piece of code and you are done.

Spoiler
on_sent_ok: "_gaq.push(['_trackEvent', 'Contact Form', 'Submit']);"

To Check, it is working properly, go to Google Analytics - Real Time - Events. Once you have given a test form submission, you should see the recent event there.

If you are not seeing this, you need to make sure the tracking code is implemented correctly or not. make use of Google Tag Assistant, a Chrome Extension to check.

Note : Above code, works only if you are using Universal Google Analytics Tracking Code.

For additional reference, I have attached a screenshot.

HI Shafi

this is event tracking. not conversion tracking, to implement cpa based goals.
my question is still the same , how to enable conversion tracking ?

PunitChandak - you can set events as goals if that's what you're after?

Shafi - this is the classic analytics code for additional settings. As soon as I updated to Universal analytics and amended the code, my tracking stopped working. Any ideas?

Thanks Smiley Happy

Hi Joanne,

For adding event tracking to contact form 7 using universal google analytics, you can use the following code,

Spoiler
on_sent_ok:"ga('send', 'event', 'category', 'action');"

where you can rename the category and action, based on the interaction.

For example, if it is a form submission button, the code would like

Spoiler
on_sent_ok:"ga('send', 'event', 'button', 'click');"

Hope this will help you

Thanks! Smiley Happy

Shafi: Unfortunately, this doesn't work for me. I have CF7 implemented. Everything seems to be working fine on the form except this part on GA event tracking. I have tried it umpteen times. How do I know if the on_sent_ok hook is working? And if that is actually the problem, any ideas on what the issue might be?

Steps:
1. Open Contact Form.
2. Choose the form on which you want to add conversion tracking code.

3. Go to Messages.
4. In "Sender's message was sent successfully" paste part of conversion tracking code which is between <noscript></noscript> See given example below:

Copy only this:
<div style="display:inline;"> <img height="1" width="1" style="border-style:none;" alt="" src="//www.googleadservices.com/pagead/conversion/XXXXXXXX/?label=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX&guid=ON&script=0"/> </div>

5. Now save the form.

Now install chrome tag assistant extension by chrome to verify. After install open your contact page fill form and send. Now check in tag assistant, If It will show there your conversion ID, its working.

I have checked above method and working for me.
