how do I know what keywords a customer used?

Hi,

New to this. First campaign. So after one day I noticed that only 1/4 ads was served 100%, and it was an ad that did not use a keyword in the headline or description. How can I reverse engineer to determine what terms were used by the people to whom the ad was served?

Thanks all!

Hello,

What type of campaign are you running? Did you use the keywords in your campaign to reach your audiences or it's a Display Network campaign?

In terms of Search network campaign, you might see clicks in front your keywords and you can get the Search Terms Report to analyse what search query users entered and which keyword triggered an ad out of that. Generally it takes sometime, since it's only one day you started running ads.

More details about Search Terms report are here: https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/2472708?hl=en

Hi Pet,

Completely agree with Pankaj on this one.

You can gain access to the exact queries that the users/customers uses using the Search Query Reports. Just give the link a read and it should help you with your queries.

Cheers!
