I've put the conversion tracking code in my "order complete" page. It showed the number of conversions in adwords but the conversion value, it always shows 0, I dont understand why

I didn't edit anything in my tracking code

Please advice

Thanks so much

Hi

You will need to customize your code to pass the conversion value

1. If your conversions are of a static value (signup for $25) then you can just make change to var google_conversion_value = 0; this like like var google_conversion_value = 25;

2 If you are selling multiple products and value for each are diffrent then refer to http://support.google.com/adwords/answer/1722054/?hl=en section called "Track conversions on a dynamically-generated website"

Hope this helps

Hi

The code looks good

You can wait for a while for values to show up

Or

you can follow following steps to check if its working

1. Install firebug on your firefox

2. Open your thankyou page in firefox

3. Open firebug >> click on Net panel>> Enable Net Panel (you might need to reload page)

4. In the Net panel search for GET ?Random

5. Click on Params inside that>> Check parameter called value

Hope this helps

Are you sure you are looking at Net panel in firebug?

Hi suri,

The syntax of your code looks correct, but we can't tell if the variable name is correct. It is name all upper case, which is the convention for constant values, but that doesn't mean it's wrong. But, the fact that the script is not recording a value indicates something is just not right. Check the variable name and make sure it is correct. If you are using VBasic with .net, remember it is now all case sensitive.

Then, complete a conversion yourself. When you get to the thank you page, look at the generated code. Does it have a value? The description of your problem indicates there will be no value. Now, that will throw a Javascript error, but since the conversion.js is loaded in the next block, it should mean a conversion is counted, but google_conversion_value is still 0.

Best of Luck!

Pete

@theniks: yeah I'm sure I was looking in the Net panel

@petebardo: I'll be checking the variable name cause I didn't see the value in the generated code although the conversion was counted

I'll be getting back soon once I see the results

Many thanks for all your support

hi all,

here is the PHP expression for the conversion value

TỔNG

                                <?php echo number_format($totalCost, 0, ',', '.')?> đ

so my tracking code must be like this ?:

var google_conversion_label = "TCGMCKu5iQUQreyC2gM";
if (<? echo $totalCost ?>) { var google_conversion_value = <? echo $totalCost ?>  }
/*  */

<img height="1" width="1" style="border-style:none;" alt="" src="http://www.googleadservices.com/pagead/conversion/994096685/?value=<? echo $totalCost ?>&label=TCGMCKu5iQUQreyC2gM&guid=ON&script=0"/>

please advise

Many thanks

Suri

Hi Suri,

That appears to be almost correct. For PHP scripts, php must follow the question mark:

var google_conversion_label = "TCGMCKu5iQUQreyC2gM";
if ("<?php echo $totalCost ?>") { var google_conversion_value = <?php echo $totalCost ?>  }
/*  */

<img height="1" width="1" style="border-style:none;" alt="" src="http://www.googleadservices.com/pagead/conversion/994096685/?value=<?php echo $totalCost ?>&label=TCGMCKu5iQUQreyC2gM&guid=ON&script=0"/>

After looking at the expression sample, it appears there is a chance that $totalCost could be empty. I can't really tell as I don't know what the function number_format() does. If $totalCost is empty, it could cause a Javascript error. I always enclose the value in quotes to prevent that from happening.
