Hi Daniel T,

Tag assistant is complaining about the placement, it should be immediately before the closing tag. I'm not sure that's the real problem.

It's also complaining about a missing CDATA section, which appears to be present, but doesn't look correct.

You have:

<script type="text/javascript">
/ /
var google_conversion_id = 940071604;
var google_conversion_language = "en";
var google_conversion_format = "3";
var google_conversion_color = "ffffff";
var google_conversion_label = "N2joCM7DxGAQtLWhwAM";
var google_conversion_value = 1.00;
var google_conversion_currency = "GBP";
var google_remarketing_only = false;
/ /
</script>

I think you should have:

<script type="text/javascript">
/* /
var google_conversion_id = 940071604;
var google_conversion_language = "en";
var google_conversion_format = "3";
var google_conversion_color = "ffffff";
var google_conversion_label = "N2joCM7DxGAQtLWhwAM";
var google_conversion_value = 1.00;
var google_conversion_currency = "GBP";
var google_remarketing_only = false;
/ */
</script>

Let us know if that solves it.

Best of Luck!

Pete

Pete Thanks for having a look, I have looked at those two blocks of code and to be honest I can't see a difference - maybe I'm missing something? This Adwords conversion code is generated from my GTM Adwords conversion tag. The initial GTM script is inserted into the websites pages body by a magento extension, not hard coded into body of pages. Do you think this extension has put the code in the correct place? What do you think is causing the 'NO HTTP RESPONSE' Thanks Sent from iPhone. Create a great day.

The difference is in the way the comments are marked. Looks like I didn't quite have it right either. Here's how it should be. Replace the values with your values, or just edit the snippet you have in Magneto.

Note the first line and the last line within the script block. The comment starts with /* and ends with */. In your block of code, where the comment should be there is a single slash at the beginning of the line and no character at the end of the line to terminate the comment. That single slash should be throwing a Javascript error:

SyntaxError: unterminated regular expression literal

And that will cause the whole block of script not to run. That gives us a place to start. Update the code for the Magneto extension, by that I mean go get the code again. It's been changed since you picked it up. Paste that code into the Magento extension, save it and try again.

There are 2 ways to mark comments in a Javascript block. The first is to comment a block that could be more than one line, it starts with /* and ends with */. The other way defines a single line as a comment, that line starts with //. My tests suggest you can do this either way, but a single slash won't work. After pasting the code in again, visit a page and see if the comments have been done right. If they have, this should take care of the problem.

I'm thinking that since no values were assigned to the variables, that may be causing this No HTTP Response error message. From what I've seen, it doesn't always mean the same thing.

If the extension is only asking you for the values instead of the block of code to insert, we have a different problem to tackle.

Give it a shot and get back to us.

Pete
