Using one remarketing tag/smart pixel at an MCC level

Hi there,

I work on a very large client with hundreds of accounts. These sit within a top-level MCC, with 4 sub-MCCs within, then lots of accounts beneath that.

I am hoping to implement remarketing lists across multiple accounts. My client uses a tag management solution (but not Google), however they are limiting the number of tags we can implement. Basically, we cannot create 100s of tags, so is it possible to implement 1 remarketing tag at an MCC level?

I'm hearing mixed responses.

Cheers,

Amy

Hi Amy K,

Remarketing lists are account specific.

Do all accounts point to the same web site?
If they are, is the web site structured in a manner similar to your account structure?
If not, are all web sites in the same Analytics account?

It seems to me you could create remarketing lists using Analytics tags based on the visited pages. The tags on all pages would all be the same. Each account would then "claim" different visitors depending on the pages visited.

Just a couple thoughts. Best of Luck!

Unfortunately, Tags are account specific, but you can share audience lists
