Upgraded URLs - Custom Parameters

Hello,

I'm trying to figure out how I should best move to upgraded URLs when my destination URL has additional tracking parameters.

This is an example of my current destination URL

https://mysite.com/myproduct?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=sample%20campaign%name&cv...

I would like to set a tracking template, Is this correct?

Final url: https://mysite.com/myproduct

Tracking template: {lpurl}?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=sample%20campaign%name&cvosrc=ppc.google.{keyword}&cvo_campaign=campaign%20name%20here&cvo_crid={creative}&Matchtype={matchtype}

In my tracking template, I want to use both hard-coded parameters (like the 'cvosrc=ppc.google' and 'cvo_campaign' parameters. But I'd also like to use ValueTrack parameters such as {keyword} and {creative}

-Do I need to use custom parameters somehow? Or will the hard-coded parameters/valuetrack parameters populate as I expect?

-Do I need to use custom parameters if I want to use the same hard-coded campaign value across various campaigns? Because I think it's applied at the ad group level by default.

Hi @cvo_feed_moo,

Let me first welcome you to AdWords Community.

Coming to your queries-

Your Tracking Template is fine if you plan to use it at ad level.

If you want to use it higher level, you will need to use custom parameters or relevant valuetracks.

Thanks
