Tracking website calls...

I have what possibly seems like a silly question.

 

To run website call conversion tracking with a forwarding number,

 it needs an active call extension.

Ok nps.

 

What happens if someone comes to the website, they get served

the call forwarding number but do not convert 

and then they come back say the next day/evening during a time when the

call extensions are scheduled not to run

 

will they still get a swapped out call forwarding number so if they call the

business it will be counted as a conversion. or the normal business number??

Hi Whims,

 

As per the AdWords official blog, if the website call conversion has been implemented on a landing page, it will continue to display for up to 90 days to track your future call conversions. More details in the the full blog (http://adwords.blogspot.in/2014/08/introducing-website-call-conversions.html):-

 

However, I still believe that if the call scheduling has been implemented, it should work in accordance with displaying that particular number during the time call extension is active on to the web page.

Hi :-)

I ran a test on the site, and the call forwarding number loads on the site also after hours when the campaigns are not actually running... so all is well in my world

Thanks for updating us here.

 

So as per your experiment and as per the official announcement, they might take into consideration the factor of 90 days and override the call scheduling if the advertiser has been using that.
