Tracking Google Display Network

Does anyone know if it's possible to add marketing campaign parameters to the search and display sections of Google Display network placements? I tried doing this but I'm not seeing any data in my analytics tool (which is not Google Analytics).

If you are looking to track the visits through your analytics platform you will need to manually tag your destination urls. Check with your platform which paramters they need (recommend) you add and how.

Hi semmatt,

Not all sites will return the placement info. I find the same thing to be true. I get some of the search placements and none of the display network placements.

BEst of Luck!

Hi;

Could you elaborate what do you mean by "marketing parameters"?

thanks. I'm referring to Source, Medium, Creative Name and Placement Name.
Again, I'd like to see this data in my analytics tool (which is not Google
Analytics). When I add the proper tagging to display network search and
placement URLS, I still don't receive the data properly back into the
analytics tool. This is only an issue with the GDN. Search network works
fine for me.

Thanks,

Matt

So, you are trying to export data from Adwords to a third party tool without using the API?

MosheTLV,

No, I just want to be able to see visits from users who clicked my ads on the Google Display network inside of my web analytics tool using campaign response tagging like www.mysite.com/?source=GDN&medium=paidsearch&creative=xyz

Is that clear?

Currently all of my tagging falls of and the data is falling into different buckets (i.e. not paid search)

What tool are you using? Google Analytics? - Because you are saying that you are using a different tool
