Hi CR Jewelers D,

I think you should probably checkout the Google Analytics forum and post your question there. You can find it here: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!forum/analytics

Good luck!

Amy, I was trying to set up a re-marketing campaign in Adwords. Does re-marketing go hand in hand w/ analytics?

I'm sorry, I misunderstood your request. I thought that you had a problem with your Google Analytics tag. You can build and import lists from Google Analytics, however, it sounds like it's your Google AdWords remarketing tag that you are having trouble with?

Can you tell me more about the tag? Is it a regular remarketing tag or is it for dynamic remarketing? What pages it is on (I looked at the home page but I didn't see it)? Is it within the Google Tag Manager or is it directly on the site? What are you seeing for audiences in AdWords - are your lists growing?

Best,
Amy

Amy,

I am trying to figure out the dynamic re-marketing part of using the images from my website to follow around the potential customers. I have almost 6,000 jewelry images. Do you know of any tutorials for that?

You were not able to see my tags using the chrome tag assistant?

Do you have any opinion on buying re-marketing data from Doubleclick?

Thanks

Hi Donald,

Sorry for the misunderstanding, I can see the diagnostics in Tag Assistant, I just can't actually see the code on the page. The error that is giving says "non-standard implementation", which doesn't necessarily mean that it isn't working - it just means that something isn't exactly as AdWords suggests.

I'm guessing that you've already seen the example in the AdWords help section (https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/3103357?hl=en). Another option that some people aren't aware of, is to work through Google Analytics. Have you considered trying to set it up that way? You can see the guide, here: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/3455585?hl=en

Unfortunately, I don't have experience buying remarketing data from Doubleclick but my general opinion is that it's worth a test Smiley Happy

Best,
Amy

Tag Assistant shows that you have implemented Google Analytics via GTM but you still have Google Analytics tracking code (with the same tracking ID) on your website so you have to remove it.

And you should move GTM container snippet immediately after the opening <body> tag.

Also I think there is something wrong in your GTM configuration because GA pageview is firing twice (triple times including GA on page).

Tomasz,

I see the three tags green now. Do you see it that way? www.crjewelers.com From your comments, I still think I have something wrong. Can you take a look?

What do you think I would need to do to use my image database for remarketing? Is it possible without using Google Merchants? Thanks

Several things:
- A blue indicator in Google Tag Assistant will show there are suggestions on improving overall tagging health (see https://support.google.com/tagassistant/answer/2947093?hl=en)
- According to tag assistant, your GA tag seems to be firing at least 3 times on each page which means you are triple counting. There must be something wrong with your GTM config
- If you want to run a dynmamic remarketing campaign for your retail site you do need to upload a product feed to Google Merchant Center. This feed will include links to the images of each of your products.
