Setting up conversion tracking for revenue and profit

Is it possible to add several converion trackings to the same landing page (order confirmation in this example)?

I want to track revenue with one script and profit with another script.

If it is possible, how do I choose to display the conversion data from one script or the other in my overview?

Hi Klelund,
No, you cannot have multiple Conversion Tracking Codes on the same page. You can modify the AdWords Conversion Code to grab the revenue from the purchase and you can display in your UI. To see the revenue from your AdWords Conversion Code -
1. Log into AdWords.
2. On the dimension you want to view (Campaigns, Ad Groups, Keywords, etc) click on Columns (under the main tabs)
3. Click on Customize Columns.
4. Click on the Conversions menu and select "Est. total conv."
5. Click Apply.

If you still want more data, one thing you could do is to create an AdWords script to possibly help you calculate an ROI. However, I'd probably just use a generic formula in my own reports to report out on profit (like use a formula like 70% of all sales is profit, or whatever your average margins are).

Hi vkore01. Thx for your reply. I have been looking around and find several answers to the "Several tracking scripts on one page" to be yes, you can.

See:

Why do you mean it is not able to have sevel scripts on the same page? after all it is just a javascript.

Hi Klelund,
To clarify - it's physically possible to have several Conversion Codes on the same page, but having multiple AdWords Conversion Codes on your page won't be able to give you the results you're specifically looking for. One thing you could do is to have the AdWords Conversion Tracking Code on your site and have it report out not on your entire revenue, but instead just the specific profit from your order. To do this, you'll have to have your webmaster modify the dynamic call variable to only report out on the profit received from your AdWords conversions.

Why won't it give us the results? We have the possibility to send the profit in one of the scripts and the revenue in the other script. I am just wondering how we can display data from one of the scripts or the other in adwords overview!

Hi Klelund,
It won't give you the results because, as far as I know, you cannot add two separate Columns to the AdWords overview. You can add Total conv value, but you can't add a column for Total conv value and Total profit value (Total profit value doesn't exist as an AdWords option).

One thing you could do, is via the AdWords API create your own reports - https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/2375503?hl=en

If that is the case, why would anyone add multiple conversion scripts?
Do you know how the data collected (the profit and the revenue) will be displayed if we used two conv. scripts - Will it be mixed up in the total conv. value or what will happen?

Correct, I believe it would be mixed up in Total conv value.

One thing that might work - create two separate Conversions - one for the order value and one for the profit. Then, when you log into your AdWords Account you can click on Conversions under your Tool menu and that will give the different values associated with each. However, I'm pretty sure you won't to segment that data in your main overview screen.

If you set up your Conversion Tracking this way, you could also see this value reported separately under the Dimensions tab.

That is exactly what we have done. We have two conversion scripts installed with different conversion labels. But then we can segment it in the dimensions tab? It is not possible to show it with a new column?

Hi vkore91 and others who might be interested. I found a solution to the problem. With the segments tab you can add all the conversions you have set up and thereby data wont be mixed up. It works perfectly. By just looking at the value/conv vs. cost/conv we can see if our marketing for campaign, ad groups, ads and specific keywords is profitable, as we now are collecting both revenue AND profit for each order.
