Will product variations in your data feed help in getting a higher impression share?

- Any answer is much appreciated!

Hi Sam,

Thanks for your post.

To answer your question, adding additional product variations could effect impression share indirectly. It's kind of like adding additional keywords.

Has anyone in the community seen this happen in practice?

a word of caution -- if product variations equate to either
submitting the same physical inventory item as a variation of
an existing item (ad) in the data-feed, or submitting product
variants without proper item_group_id and variant attributes,
then those techniques violate the policies and can result in
disapproval or suspension, at any time.

otherwise, be certain to consider each title and description carefully
with respect to the physical product variations being advertised --
and measure the results before, during, and after any (feed) changes;
those two attributes can have a critical impact on gaining or losing
impression-share.

of course, do not neglect any attribute (value) submitted within a
data-feed -- those all contribute to quality and overall impressions.
