Paid vs Display Data in Adwords linked to Analytics

Hi,

I linked my adwords account with analytics, although I since no search campaigns are running and only remarketing campaign is running, still I get data for new visitor for paid search along with display search? I understand that paid search would be pay per click data however display would be from remarketing, then in this case while pay per click for search network is not running, why is it showing the data or is it same as display?

Thanks in Advance.

Cheers!

Hi Vijaylakshmi,

Are you seeing this in the Channels section of the Reporting view of Analytics? And is there a difference in traffic reported for the paid search channel vs. display?

Thanks!
Cassie

Yes Cassie, you got it right. Yes, there is difference between paid vs display.

Hi Vijaylakshmi,

Are you using custom UTM tracking on the URLs in your campaign, or other advertising methods? If you are using something like utm_medium=cpc or utm_medium=google, it may get misattributed.
