There is not a cut and dry answer to that question.

If I had to say it is often more likely that you will see exact match keywords that have high competition have higher CPC's than a broad match that is expanding to longer tail keywords with less competition.

When keywords can expand (phrase and broad) there is more flexibility in the actual search queries that can trigger your ads to appear.

See your Search Terms Report to review the actual terms your keywords are serving ads on and what the cps's look like. http://support.google.com/adwords/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=2472708

Thanks, I asked this question because I saw my phrase match keywords are costing me more as compared to the exact version.

Have a look at the search terms report for that keyword.  When you run the report then go to the columns button and enable the Keyword column to show so you can compare the search terms to the actual keyword in your account.  You may find that your phrase match is expanding to some higher competition keywords.

Like I said, and you just proved, there is no easy answer Smiley Happy
