Lost IS between two accounts for the same Dest. URL

Hi there!

If there are two accounts basically advertising for the same landing web page - sometimes, mistakes creep in and the same keywords are being targeted in both the accounts.

This leads to lost impression share due to "Another Ad is being displayed due to a higher QS or Rank". So, commonly, the keyword or ad loses the impression to the same keyword/ad from the other account.

My question is, when we're pulling reports on Lost Impression Share on one account - would it calculate that based on the destination URL or on the account?

When it gives Lost IS, does it mean the Lost IS including the other account (targeting the same keyword) and the competitors? Or does it mean "Both accounts that are targeting the same Dest. URL are collectively losing X% of impression share"?

Thanks!

hi,

Targeting one website/url from two different accounts is a violation of policies. so, you will be penalized.

I am not sure, but Lost IS is calculated for your account with comparing to the competitors so, even though if your are competing with your own ads from different account it will be considered as a competitor and it will give reports of that particular account's lost impression share.
It won't show collectively.

Thanks and Regards
John Paul

As John Paul said you are violating the "double serving" section of the Policy. Thus, any further discussion is "in theory"....

Hi Mark H ,

Check the Auction Insights report for the Impression share across advertisers for the same keyword.

Thanks Moshe. Totally aware of it - the keywords in question are actually paused - but wanted to know what exactly is being reported.

Secondly, don't think if it makes any difference but one account is pointing to a subdomain while the other points to the main tld.

The domain targeted is irrelevant in this case.  Please  thoroughly  read the "double serving"  section  of the policy.
