Integrating AdWords Among Two Websites with Different Domains and CMS

My company has recently started using Odoo Website Builder to create new landing pages for a couple of our marketing campaigns because of the easy drag and drop feature that it has. It's basically one main website but with multiple, separate pages that act as lead capture pages for different companies. Unfortunately, unlike Unbounce, the folks at Odoo have told me that it isn't possible to integrate my external landing pages into my main client websites because they aren't built with Odoo.

So now my question is, what is the best way to integrate all my various client AdWords accounts into these Odoo pages considering the circumstances?

Off the top of my head I've thought of:

a) creating a secondary adwords account strictly for my Odoo site and all the pages. Then I'd just create separate campaigns per client.

b) creating separate adwords accounts for each client to be used on the individual landing pages I've created.

If anyone else has any other ideas, I would be very grateful.

Hello,

Please note that AdWords allow single business- single AdWords account to run otherwise you might run into trouble for policy violations. See this poicy for more insights:- https://support.google.com/adwordspolicy/answer/6020954?hl=en

Even if your client has multiple websites, but a single business, I would suggest sticking to one account only.

On the contrary if you have multiple clients with different businesses, then creating AdWords account per client is good to go.

Hi @pankaj1782, yes I am aware of those. I think you've misunderstood my question?

I do not manage a single client. I manage multiple clients with different websites. All have their own AdWords accounts. However, our marketing team creates campaign landing pages on a third party page builder running on Odoo. So really my problem is integrating the adwords accounts I already have with this page builder that creates pages with urls that don't belong to the same domains as my client websites.

From a client site perspective, I don't think I can have one AdWords account on two different sites with different domains (Client site + Odoo). From the Odoo site perspective, I also don't think I can have multiple adwords accounts pointing towards one site.

I hope that makes things clearer.

All landing page platform offer  to install the client domain to replace the "builder" URL. This is the recommended practice. That way a violation on giving site would not affect any client. (Since each installed its own domain)

Hi @Angeli V,

Thanks for clarifying. Is it not possible to integrate Odoo on your main website and then create landing pages for your marketing campaigns instead of setting them up separately and that too on a different domain?

Also are you only using Odoo landing pages for AdWords marketing campaigns OR are you using your client's website also to promote across AdWords? This problem is more inclined towards integration and development side compared to AdWords side. You will have to get in touch with your client's website domain provider and see if any integration with Odoo is feasible or not.

One of the typical example that I have been handling is related to Marketo where the main site remains as it is and the LPs you create sits on a sub domain. So your main website is example.com and Marketo landing page is go.example.com/xyz.

Hope this helps!

Pankaj

I tried asking that but they couldn't do it because
1.) They cannot assign domains to specific pages only. Remember I have multiple clients using this one Odoo site.
2.) the CMS aren't the same.

Then I honestly recommend to switch to another vendor;

We had in the past a case in which Google found several violations by sites on the landing page platform, and suspended all sites liked / used that platform domain until all landing pages were fixed, though these (landing pages)  were totally  unrelated businesses.

My recommendation since then is clear: do not advertise a domain which you do not have control over its content.

Hey Pankaj,

Is it not possible to integrate Odoo on your main website and then create landing pages for your marketing campaigns instead of setting them up separately and that too on a different domain?

Unfortunately this is not possible to integrate Odoo onto my main website because I have several client websites and just one Odoo site for creating landing pages.

Our current structure is as follows:

Odoo Site

- Client A

- Client B

- Client C

not

Odoo Site - Client A

Odoo Site - Client B

Odoo Site - Client C

I have no control over this either as we only have that one Odoo site to work with.

Also are you only using Odoo landing pages for AdWords marketing campaigns OR are you using your client's website also to promote across AdWords?

I would have intended to use Odoo landing pages for both AdWords and my main client website. Or at least be able to track conversions coming from the Odoo site and be able to say it was because of a campaign pointing towards my client site.

This problem is more inclined towards integration and development side compared to AdWords side. You will have to get in touch with your client's website domain provider and see if any integration with Odoo is feasible or not.

As I mentioned in my original question, I have already approached our developers and the folks at Odoo but they tell me it is not possible to add client URLs to just these individual LPs. The structure illustrated below is just not possible, which is why I'm trying to look for another way to set up adwords on my Odoo sites given the circumstances.

Odoo Site

- Client A

+ LP 1 - clienta.com/URL 1

+ LP 2 - clienta.com/URL 2

- Client B

+ LP 1 - clientb.com/URL1

+ LP 2 - clientb.com/URL2

one ad-account per business-entity.

normally, either an mcc or admin-access is
used to administer each client's ad-account.

as to the site-builder (page-builder) app --

if the landing-page-content is being created on behalf of a client's business,
with multiple clients contained under one, single, site domain, that is likely
placing all clients at risk -- especially since the clients seem to not directly
control their own advertising-content and are under a third-party domain.

as was indicated, the best likely course would be to switch to another cms
that can handle handing over the created content to each individual client,
under the client's website/sub-domain, that can be placed under the client's

direct control.

otherwise, if the current site/page builder can be used such that
each client can have direct control over their content and placed
under a separate domain/sub-domain -- then simply outsourcing the
ad content creation, along with the ad-account administration, may
be an option.

The structure is irrelevant, The question is the URL. I don't understand how the client URL looks like. Please give an example of the URL of the client.

Is that, for client A
