Import Goals without making them conversions?

Hi,

I'd like to see the goal conversion rates etc from analytics in adwords, for individual keywords.

However, i don't want to set it up as a conversion in adwords.

Is that possible?

HI

  • Log in to analytics
  • Navigate to Traffic Sources >> Advertising >> Adwords >> Keywords
  • Now from the top menu which is just above the graph click on menu item called "Clicks"

There you will get all the data needed other than Quality score

Yes, that's possible if you are using Google Analytics and have linked Google Adwords with Google Analytics correctly. In that case, you need to set up the goals inside Analytics and when someone from Google ads will complete the goal, you will get the option to import goals under Conversions Tab in Adwords interface. After that it will start populating the goals data from the time you import them.

I prefer both ways i.e. importing goals and adding Conversion Tracking code as well. So it actually depends upon you how you really want to set it up.

theres a problem with that approach: it starts counting the analytics goals as conversions.

i don't want that.

i want:

1. only purchases to reflect as conversions in adwords

2. to see the engagement and other analytics goals in adwords

Hi mktgboltell, the imported fields from Analytics (while extremely useful) are only those there on that list, i.e. bounce rate, etc. and don't include a figure for goals - at least not yet...

I'm pretty sure what you want can't be done at the moment in the Adwords interface.  It can be done in Analytics, of course, is there a reason why you can't do it that way around?

Hi

If your accounts are linked and autotagging is on then you should be able to see KW CPC, CTR, cost, this data in analytics only thing you wont be able to see is quality score.

If you still want quality score then i guess only solution is using adwords script and analytics magic script with google spreadsheet and data getting updated from adwords and analytics on the same spreadsheet.

With a a little bit of tweaking you should be able to use this script

https://developers.google.com/adwords/scripts/docs/tutorials/keyword-performance-report#output_quali...

I am quite sure this can be achived via this approach

Hope this helps
